In science class, we have just completed the life systems unit, and what better way to end it then dissecting frogs? The point of this lab was to observe the frogs organs and classify what system they belong too. Followed by the dissection, was a small assessment on the frog and it's organs. This process of dissecting the frog was so intriguing and a truly amazing experience. The first day of dissection was awesome! What we did was we received a frog, and cut open the skin and through the muscle to look at all the organs. We were advised to remove all of the eggs and fat bodies we found since my frog was a female. I never knew that an organism could produce that many eggs, they were all over the body! For the rest of the time, we identified which organs were which after looking at our charts in our lab packet. That was the completion of day one.
The second day of disection was very interesting also. What we were advised to do in this day, was to remove all the organs found and identify them and take a closer look. Some of the body parts that we removed were the heart, the livers, the small intestine and the large intestine, the stomach, the gallbladder and more. I was completely amazed when we were removing all of the body parts. While removing all of those organs, I took a very close look at each of them and in my mind I was comparing the frog to humans. This process was a wonderful expierence to me and hopefully to my lab partners.
