Waves

This week in science we have been studying waves. We have done some experiments in class about them. Waves are in some of our resources that we use everyday. Waves are very important in our life's but are not in everything. So in class we learned about transverse and longitudinal waves. Transverse waves are waves that go up and down. For example taking a rope and flicking your wrist up and down would form a transverse wave.

The second wave our class learned about was the longitudinal wave. A longitudinal wave is a wave that moves back and forth or left to right. During our experiments we used a slinky to model our longitudinal waves. In this experiment we used force and saw the waves move back and forth in the slinky. This modeled longitudinal waves.
